This week on the blog we will mostly be celebrating autumn, my favourite time of the year, with the seasonally very well adjusted Older Mum in a Muddle. As I am not firing on all cylinders at the mo (here’s why) my contributions will likely be more visual than verbal.

Here is a peek at the autumnal goings on in a dreamy place further up the mountain that we call Bibsey’s meadow. And the less dreamy place that we call my kitchen.

Of course it’s not all outdoorsy, chestnut roasty, wholesome fun up here in the Alpujarras but we have a go. This was a particularly lovely family afternoon that I will always remember.

To link up your autumnal posts, or just to see what others have been up to, click on the badge to pop over to Older Mum’s place. I am also linking up with the Coombe Mill Country Kids linky.

It’s wonderful to know that I’m seasonally well adjusted – that made me laugh! Lovely photos, and I absolutely love that you have a meadow called Bibsey’s meadow – totally gorgeous! Roast chestnuts are yum – one of those lovely smells from Autumn. X.

I love the smell of roast chestnuts. Stalls selling them pop up all over Zurich at this time of year and it’s definitely a sensory experience I associate with Autumn now.

There is something very special about roast chestnuts. They’re pure autumn. We used to roast them on the fire with parents as children and I’ll always remember it fondly.

I love the happiness that shines through, and the contrast between there and here where I put chestnuts into braised winter vegetables!

Gosh – looks absolutely stunning. Made me want to sing ‘chestnuts roasting on an open fire’ which isn’t a good thing as I can’t sing and probably completely inappropriate.

I am so jealous, I love roasted Chestnuts and we will have them over a log fire here at Coombe Mill, but to pick them straight from the trees, that is something else! Your photos are beautiful so never mind the loss of words and hope the arm is not causing you too much grief!

Thanks for all the lovely comments on this post. Sorry for the delayed response. The week got away from me, what with all the autumnal blogging and broken arm. xxx
